Union Bulk names Boesen as the new chief executive officer | Dry bulk shipping news

Union Bulk A/S chief executive officer Michael Bonderup is stepping down after 15 months in the role.

Bonderup joined the dry cargo vessel operator in 2024, replacing Jens Boesen.

The Danish dry bulk shipping and freight trading company confirmed the news yesterday saying that it is entering now the next phase of its development under the helm of Jens R. Boesen.

“We thank Michael for his efforts during his period here,” Union Bulk said, adding that further updates will be provided as appropriate.

Jens R. Boesen will assume executive responsibility with immediate effect.

In both the Copenhagen, Singapore and Hong Kong offices, the company’s team will continue its commercial and operational activities as normal, the company stated in its release.

In 2024 Jens Boesen stepped down from his role as the chief executive – a role that he had since the company was founded – to take on the position of chief financial officer (CFO).

At that time Union Bulk said that Jens will serve as an ambassador for the company, continuing to build valuable relationships and represent Union Bulk globally.
