Azerbaijan exported 23.1 million tonnes of oil in 2025, energy ministry says

Azerbaijan’s gas production increased to 51.5 billion cubic metres in 2025 from 50.3 billion cubic metres in 2024, though oil exports last year dropped to 23.1 million tonnes from 24.4 million tonnes, the energy ministry said on Monday.

Britain’s BP reduced its oil production in Azerbaijan to 16.2 million tonnes in 2025 from 16.8 million tonnes in 2024.

Gas exports to Europe fell to 12.8 billion cubic metres from 12.9 billion cubic metres. Overall gas exports were unchanged at 25.2 billion cubic metres, the ministry said.

Gas exports to Turkey fell to 9.6 billion cubic metres (bcm) from 9.9 bcm, while exports to Georgia declined to 2.3 bcm from 2.4 bcm. Gas exports to Turkey via the TANAP pipeline were unchanged at 5.6 bcm.

Azerbaijan exported 0.5 bcm of gas to Syria, the ministry said.
