
China’s imports of unwrought aluminium and products jumped 24.1% year-on-year in June, customs data showed on Friday.
The world’s top consumer of the light metal imported 300,000 metric tons of unwrought aluminium and products last month, data from the General Administration of Customs showed.
The data includes primary metal and unwrought, alloyed aluminium.
In the first half of 2025, China imported a total of 1.98 million tons of unwrought aluminium and products, down 3.2% from the corresponding 2024 period.
Imports of bauxite, a key raw material for aluminium, jumped 36.2% on the year to 18.12 million tons in June, driven by higher domestic output of aluminium.
Imports from January to June totalled 103.25 million tons, up 33.6% year-on-year.
