Drewry: The World Container Index decreased 1% this week 07-2026 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued the decreasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index decreased by 1% to $1,933 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam decreased by 2% or $37 to $2,127, and Rotterdam to Shanghai increased by 2% or $9 to $525 per 40-foot container.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa decreased by 3% or $83 to $2,965, while Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased by 1% or $25 to $2,214. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York decreased by 1% or $19 to $2,800 per 40-foot container.

Meanwhile, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai remained unchanged at $726 and Rotterdam to New York increased by 1% or $18 to $1,616 per FEU. Furthermore, the freight from New York to Rotterdam this week increased by 2% or $20 to $966 per 40-foot container.
