Drewry: The World Container Index increased 2% this week 50-2025 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued the increasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index increased by 2% to $1,957 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam increased by 5% or $120 to $2,361, and Rotterdam to Shanghai increased by 1% or $5 to $465 per 40-foot container.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa increased by 13% or $356 to $3,004, while Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased by 7% or $153 to $2,103. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York decreased by 5% or $139 to $2,756 per 40-foot container.

Moreover, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai decreased by 1% or $10 to $709 and Rotterdam to New York remained stable at $1,636 per FEU. Furthermore, the freight from New York to Rotterdam this week increased by 3% or $26 to $942 per 40-foot container.
