Drewry: The World Container Index increased 6% this week 21-2026 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued the increasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index increased by 6% to $2,712 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam increased by 15% or $360 to $2,773, and Rotterdam to Shanghai increased by 1% or $6 to $650 per 40-foot container.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa increased by 10% or $381 to $4,082, while Shanghai to Los Angeles increased by 1% or $28 to $3,385. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York increased by 2% or $65 to $4,317 per 40-foot container.

Meanwhile, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai increased by 2% or $18 to $809, and Rotterdam to New York increased by 3% or $65 to $2,453 per FEU. Furthermore, the freight from New York to Rotterdam this week decreased by 3% or $28 to $1,002 per 40-foot container.
