Turkey-based Eren Energi Elektrik Uretim, a power producer, is seeking 375,000 mt of high-calorific thermal coal for August-December 2025 loading in five shipments, according to the tender document seen by Platts on June 27.
The power company is seeking thermal coal with a minimum calorific value of 5,700 kcal/kg NAR to a maximum CV of 6,100 kcal/kg NAR coal, with a maximum sulfur content at 1.10%, maximum 15% ash on an air-dried basis, maximum 17% moisture, and maximum volatile matter at less than 42% and minimum at less than 35%. The thermal coal should have a maximum Hardgrove Grindability Index of 65% and a minimum of 45%, according to the tender.
The coal can be of single origin or from multiple origins.
The coal will be delivered in 75,000 mt lots, plus or minus 10%, on at least a Panamax ship to Turkey through the Eren Port in Zonguldak, starting from Aug. 1-10 and ending between Dec. 5-15, 2025, the tender said.
The price for each shipment shall be based on 6,000 kcal/kg NAR, and there will be no price adjustment above 6,100 kcal/kg NAR.
The offers from the seller shall be submitted via email by June 20, the document said. However, despite the initial closing date of June 20, the company is still accepting offers and is likely to finalize the supplier by July 4, a company said.
The outcome of the tender has yet to be announced.
