Turkey’s grain production seen down 12% at 34.2 mln tonnes this year

Turkish grain production is seen at 34.2 million tonnes in 2025, down 12.4% from 2024 and down from a previous estimate of 37.4 million, the Turkish Statistics Institute said on Friday, after major fruit crops were damaged by a severe frost this year.

It said Turkish 2025 wheat production was estimated to be 17.9 million tonnes, down 13.9% from a year earlier and down from an initial estimate of 19.6 million tonnes.

Barley production was estimated to be 6 million tonnes, down 25.9% year-on-year and lower than a previous estimate of 7.5 million tonnes.

Fruit production was estimated to be 19.8 million tonnes, down 30.4% from a year earlier and down from an initial estimate of 21.4 million tonnes.
