Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised NatPower Marine on its establishment of a joint venture with Wah Kwong Maritime Transport.

NatPower Marine, part of the NatPower Group, is an independent energy transition business, delivering a fully integrated, smart network of charging points powered by clean energy in key locations around the world. Wah Kwong Maritime Transport is a leading owner and investor in shipping assets, with more than 70 years of operations in Hong Kong.

The joint venture aims to support maritime decarbonisation by enabling vessels to use low-emission electricity while at berth and for near-shore propulsion, through the development and operation of a network of electric shore power infrastructure at major ports across Asia. The joint venture will be structured with a Singapore-based holding company and a Hong Kong-incorporated operating subsidiary.

This transaction highlights the firm’s extensive cross-practice expertise in the transportation, energy transition and technology sectors.
