Aqaba Port unaffected by regional tensions, says Navigation Syndicate

Secretary-General of the Jordan Navigation Syndicate (JNS) Mohammad Abdulhadi, said that Aqaba Port has so far remained unaffected by regional developments and continues to operate efficiently, particularly in comparison to Gulf ports.

Abdulhadi stated on Sunday that since the beginning of March, 92 vessels have passed through the Strait of Hormuz, compared to around 1,400 vessels during the same period last year, indicating a decline in maritime traffic in the region.

He also pointed to expectations of rising prices for some goods due to increased fuel and shipping costs, while noting that global companies have submitted inquiries to consider adopting Aqaba Port as a regional entry point for their operations.
