NAT cashes $25m for oldest suezmax as fleet renewal rumbles on | Shipsale news

Suezmax tanker specialist Nordic American Tankers is set to dispose an old suezmax tanker for $25m. US-listed NAT said it had agreed the sale of an unnamed 2003-built ship for $25m, with no debt left on the vessel.

The only tanker seen on the company’s website, that was built in 2003, is the 150,103-dwt suezmax Nordic Pollux.

Specifically, the shipowner sealed a sales agreement for a 2003-built suezmax tanker.

The sales price of the ship is $25m net, and the ship has no debt.

NAT also said that it had signed the preliminary agreements for the construction of two suezmax tankers.

The price is $86m for each ship.

The Herbjørn Hansson-led firm placed the order at the South Korean shipyard Daehan Shipbuilding with the units planned for delivery to NAT in 2028.

Meanwhile, NAT finalized the sale of a suezmax tanker pair built in 2004 and 2005. Both vessels have been delivered to their new owner.

In accordance with the shipowner, the net cash to NAT is $50m. The shipowner didn’t disclose the vessels names or the buyer.
