OMC International Wins Ports Victoria AIS Big Data Analysis Tender

OMC International is pleased to announce it has been awarded the contract by Ports Victoria for the provision of AIS Big Data Analytics services following a comprehensive tender process. OMC’s TransitAnalyst platform will support Ports Victoria’s data analysis capabilities, enhancing port efficiency and navigational safety through state-of-the-art big data analytics. TransitAnalyst enables Ports Victoria to gain valuable insights into vessel movements occurring within its port waters. AI enhanced analysis of every transit including route, swept path, speeds, and rates of turn is integrated with the met-ocean data and vessel characteristics to form a comprehensive picture of the port’s operations. Features including trend analysis, outlier identification, and automatic reporting allow for improved understanding and management of port operations. TransitAnalyst has already been used in support of ensuring safety for on water beacon maintenance work, and providing detailed review of navigational events.

“Ports have access to enormous amounts of data. The solution we are bringing enables that data to be easily accessed, amalgamated and used to add value to the port operations, from both a safety and efficiency perspective. Our experience shows that once clients begin exploring the available analytics, they quickly discover numerous applications for the data to deliver valuable insights across various aspects of port operations.” Peter O’Brien, CEO, OMC International.

OMC is proud to partner with Ports Victoria to deliver and continue to develop this state-of-theart AIS Big Data Analysis solution, and to help support the safe and efficient operations of their ports and waterways through technology.
