Port Innovators Network (PIN) Welcomes New Bedford Ocean Cluster

The Port Innovators Network (PIN) expands into New England (USA) with the addition of the New Bedford Ocean Cluster.

New Bedford Ocean Cluster (NBOC) is a nonprofit, marine industry association launched in 2021 supporting the Port of New Bedford and surrounding region’s development of the ocean economy across four industry pillars: aquaculture, commercial fishing & processing, offshore renewable energy, and marine technology.

PIN members will benefit from NBOC’s experience championing industry cooperation particularly between established sectors such as commercial fishing and emerging ones like offshore energy. Through PIN, the NBOC forms a closer connection to global ports and the opportunity to participate in collaborative projects advancing innovation and economic growth in the maritime sector.

NBOC

“We are thrilled to be a part of PIN! The Port of New Bedford is America’s highest grossing commercial fishing port and a primary hub for offshore wind development. This success has positioned the port to also lead in marine technology. We look forward to sharing best practices and lessons learned from New Bedford with PIN member ports.” – Jennifer Downing, Executive Director, New Bedford Ocean Cluster
