Sinko ID settles on former research site in the port of Rotterdam

Sinko Group has acquired Kuwait Petroleum Research & Technology B.V. and is establishing Sinko Innovation & Development (Sinko ID) on the site. The location in Europoort, in the Port of Rotterdam, will thus take on a new purpose, focusing on research, development, and upscaling of technologies for the energy transition and the circular economy.

The site (40,000 m²) will provide laboratories, workshops, and office spaces for startups, scale-ups, and established companies. Sinko ID is a new organization focused on supporting startups, scale-ups, and industrial partners working on sustainable energy, hydrogen, circular raw materials, and industrial sustainability. In addition, Sinko ID collaborates with research institutions, enabling companies to rapidly advance research toward commercial application.

The redevelopment aligns with the Port of Rotterdam’s objectives to accommodate activities at existing sites that support a low-carbon and circular economy. By preserving and reusing existing infrastructure, the site will continue to contribute to the port’s industrial and knowledge based character.
