As part of the ongoing process to select concessionaires for the development of the energy corridor and the container transshipment terminals in Corozal and Telfers, the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) has published the first amendments to the prequalification documents for these initiatives.
The prequalification documents for the initiatives were published on January 30, 2026, establishing the guidelines for interested parties to submit the required documentation to participate in these processes.
Both amendments incorporate adjustments aimed at providing greater clarity to participants and improving the efficiency of the process in response to feedback received from the market. As part of these adjustments, the deadline for submitting clarification requests has been extended to April 8, 2026, and the deadline for submitting prequalification documents has been extended to June 8, 2026.
These initiatives are intended to promote new economic opportunities for the country, including job creation and investment attraction, and are being developed with consideration for both the environment and nearby communities with the goal of ensuring that logistics and infrastructure development make positive contributions.
The energy corridor and the container transshipment terminals are part of the Canal’s 2025–2035 Strategic Vision, aimed at diversifying services, strengthening operational resilience, and consolidating the country’s position as a global logistics hub.
