Ukrainian Forces struck Russian port in the Astrakhan region | Port news

The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a strike on the port of Olya in Astrakhan region. As part of a special operation, Ukrainian forces targeted the port of Olya on August 14.

According to available information, the strike hit a vessel in the Olya port, which is a sea port in Olya village settlement in Limansky District in Astrakhan Oblast, Russia.

“The results of the strike are being clarified,” the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SOF) said in a post on Facebook.

The strike is part of Ukraine’s broader campaign to degrade Russia’s ability to launch air attacks and sustain its war effort.

According to officials, the vessel was hit in the attack but the extent of the damage is reportedly still being assessed. SOF shared a photo of the ship in Facebook, although Russian officials have yet to confirm any damage.

Russia has not commented on the attack. The Shipping Telegraph cannot verify these claims.

Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces are a separate branch of the armed forces of Ukraine, which includes special forces units, the resistance movement, and psychological operations units.

The ship in Russian port was attacked one day before the high-stakes Donald Trump-Vladimir Putin summit in Alaska on Friday as the U.S. seeks a ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war.
