Chinese builder Dajin Heavy Industry and Germany’s Briese Schiffahrts have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop an international offshore wind hub at the Port of Cuxhaven. The project will center on a newly built terminal spanning more than 20 hectares.
The partnership combines Dajin’s fleet of deck carrier vessels with Briese’s global shipping network to provide offshore wind marshalling, heavy-lift transport, and logistics services. City officials highlighted Cuxhaven’s strategic location on Germany’s North Sea coast and its ability to host space-intensive offshore wind operations, aligning with the country’s energy transition goals.
Briese manages a fleet of over 130 multipurpose heavy-lift vessels, while Dajin is building its own logistics system to support global operations. Construction of the first phase is already underway, with four ships and plans to eventually expand to a fleet of 10–20 super large heavy deck transport ships of various sizes.
