Abu Dhabi-based HEA Energy has secured a new operations and maintenance contract in Europe, strengthening its position in the offshore wind aftermarket.

The company indicated that the campaign is set to begin in summer 2026, with work to be carried out in the North Sea using its jack-up barge HEA Hercules.

The vessel has already been mobilised following maintenance and upgrade works completed in Rotterdam.

HEA Energy noted that the award supports its strategy of building long-term partnerships with developers, focusing on supporting offshore wind farms throughout their operational lifecycle.

The company pointed to growing demand for maintenance services as turbine sizes increase and installed capacity expands. Larger and more complex units are driving the need for specialised vessels capable of handling component replacement and more technical offshore interventions.

HEA Energy added that it has been scaling its fleet to meet these requirements, investing in a mix of newbuildings and secondhand tonnage to create a flexible platform for offshore renewables work.

The latest contract follows earlier progress in the European market. This year, the company, through its UK-based subsidiary Novastar Energy Holdings, secured work on the 1.5 GW Baltica 2 project, being developed by PGE and Ørsted.

Since its establishment in 2022 by Hassan El Ali, founder and executive chairman of ZMI Holdings, HEA Energy has been building out its offshore wind offering, targeting the servicing segment with a growing fleet and a focus on long-term maintenance contracts.
