Ireland-based XOCEAN has landed a series of five-year contracts to deliver low-carbon bathymetric surveys across six Dutch offshore wind farms, marking one of the largest multi-site survey frameworks awarded in the Netherlands to date.
The agreements were pulled together by Eneco on behalf of the participating projects: Borssele 3&4 (Blauwwind), Borssele 5 (Two Towers), Eneco Luchterduinen, Hollandse Kust Noord (CrossWind), Hollandse Kust West VI (Ecowende), and Prinses Amaliawindpark (Eneco). Between them, the farms operate 303 turbines supplying power to millions of homes.
Under the long-term deal, XOCEAN will carry out detailed bathymetric surveys focused on monopile foundations, inter-array cables, and export cable routes. The work feeds directly into ongoing maintenance plans aimed at protecting uptime and extending asset life.
The company will rely on its fleet of remotely operated uncrewed surface vessels (USVs), which have become a standard tool for low-carbon hydrographic operations. The USVs allow survey teams to capture subsea data while cutting fuel use, offshore exposure, and vessel time compared to conventional crewed platforms.
James Ives, XOCEAN CEO, said the contract underscores the company’s growing role in offshore wind: “We are delighted to be supporting the Dutch offshore wind sector through this long-term partnership coordinated by Eneco. By deploying our low-carbon USV technology, we look forward to delivering high-quality subsea data while significantly reducing operational emissions and enhancing the overall sustainability of offshore operations.”
XOCEAN has completed more than 1,600 missions worldwide and continues to scale its offshore wind footprint across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and North America.
