Atlas and EMF charter suezmax tanker to ‘solid’ partner | Shipyard news

European Maritime Finance (EMF) and Atlas took delivery of Geneva Star, a suezmax crude oil tanker with a deadweight of 157,000 MT.

The companies took delivery of Geneva Star, the first vessel in a series of eight suezmax tankers being built at Daehan Shipbuilding Co. Ltd, with the remaining seven scheduled for delivery over the next 17 months.

Copenhagen-headquartered EMF said the vessel is now ready to commence a one-year charter with a “solid partner within the industry.”

The company didn’t disclose the name of the partner.

The delivery of Geneva Star, which is the 10th vessel in a series of tanker vessels from Daehan Shipbuilding, marks the long-term partnership between EMF, Atlas, and Daehan.

The vessel is equipped with the latest MAN B&W 6G70ME Tier III-engine and is BWTS and scrubber fitted as well as Mewis Duct for improved fuel efficiency.
