Hanla IMS jumps over 20% after preferred bidder selection for Busan Yeongdo Shipyard sale

Shipbuilding equipment corporations Hanla IMS rose on the 23rd on news that it was selected as the preferred bidder for the sale of the Yeongdo Shipyard in Busan.
As of 9:15 a.m. that day, it was trading at 19,750 won, up 3,720 won (23.21%) from the previous trading day.

According to the Busan Ilbo the previous day, the creditor group of Daesun Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. recently selected Hanla IMS as the preferred bidder for Yeongdo Shipyard. With this preferred bidder designation, if Hanla IMS acquires Yeongdo Shipyard, it is expected to be used mainly for MRO going forward.

It appears that the creditor group of Daesun Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. attempted to sell the Yeongdo Shipyard in light of growing interest in the MRO business as the MASGA project has recently advanced.
