HD Hyundai To Build Two Containerships

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, the intermediate holding company of HD Hyundai specializing in shipbuilding, announced on September 8 that it has recently signed a contract to build two containerships with a shipping company based in Asia.

– The total order amount is 409.5 billion KRW.

– The two vessels will be built by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and is scheduled to be delivered consecutively by the first half of 2028.

– Including these orders, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has received orders for a total of 86 ships worth 11.75 billion USD to date, achieving 65.1% of the annual order target of 18.05 billion USD (provisional).

– By ship type, the company has received orders for 5 LNG carrier, 6 LNG bunkering vessels, 8 LPG/ammonia carriers, 2 ethane carriers, 52 container ships, 12 tankers, and 1 product tanker.
