

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, the intermediate holding company of HD Hyundai specializing in shipbuilding, announced on May 13 that it has signed a contract with a shipping company based in North America to build two LNG carriers.
– The total order amount is 748.5 billion KRW.
– The two vessels will be built by HD Hyundai Samho and are scheduled to be delivered by the second half of 2029.
– Including these orders, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has received orders for a total of 96 ships worth 11.32 billion USD so far this year, achieving 48.6% of its annual order target of 23.31 billion USD (provisional).
– By ship type, the company has received orders for 14 LNG carriers, 26 containerships, 20 LPG/ammonia carriers, 7 crude oil carriers, 26 product carriers, 2 PCTCs, and 1 icebreaker.
