

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, the midlevel shipbuilding holding company of HD Hyundai, disclosed on the 27th that on the 26th it signed a contract with a shipowner in Asia to build six container ships worth 372.4 billion won. They will be built at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and delivered by the end of June 2028.
On the 26th, it also disclosed an order for an LNG carrier worth 367.8 billion won from a shipowner in Oceania. It will be built at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and delivered by the second half of 2028.
With this, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has signed construction contracts this year for a total of 25 ships worth $3.36 billion (about 4.8168 trillion won), achieving 14.4% of its annual order target of $23.31 billion (about 33.4032 trillion won).
By ship type, the orders comprise six liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, 10 container ships, three liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and ammonia carriers, four very large crude carriers, and two PC ships.
