HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, the intermediate shipbuilding holding company of HD Hyundai, said on the 21st that it recently signed a construction contract with a European shipowner for four very large crude carriers (VLCCs).

The order is worth 762.7 billion won, and the ships will be built at HD Hyundai Samho and delivered sequentially by mid-August 2029.

Including this order, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has secured a total of 108 ships ($14.76 billion), achieving 81.8% of its annual order target ($18.05 billion).

By ship type, the orders comprise seven LNG carriers, six LNG bunkering vessels, nine LPG and ammonia carriers, two ethane carriers, 61 container ships, 20 tankers, and three product carriers.
