Nordic American Tankers expands fleet with South Korea suezmax orders | Tankers

Suezmax tanker specialist Nordic American Tankers is growing its fleet portfolio with two additional South Korean tankers.

US-listed NAT said on Monday that it had agreed a letter of intent (LOI) to build two suezmax tankers at a south Korean shipyard.

The Herbjørn Hansson-led firm did not disclose the name of the shipyard but said the units are planned for delivery in the second half of 2028.

The price of the ships is $86m each with the final contract expected to be sealed in early 2026.

Currently, Nordic American Tankers has in its fleet portfolio 20 suezmax tankers, with the company predicting a strong market for its ships.
