U.S.-headquartered oilfield services player Halliburton has joined forces with Valaris, an offshore drilling contractor, and Petronas Suriname Exploration & Production, a subsidiary of Malaysia’s Petronas, to bolster the asset development and long-term value in Suriname.
This strategic collaboration agreement enables Halliburton, Valaris, and Petronas to support the development of local assets by combining their strengths early in the development life-cycle to foster close alignment from planning through execution. The move is said to reflect a unified focus on stronger project readiness, improved execution performance, and long-term value creation.
Shannon Slocum, Chief Operating Officer at Halliburton, commented: “This collaboration reflects Petronas Suriname’s confidence in our early engagement approach and the ability to establish execution readiness from the outset.
“Our integration of subsurface insight with well construction expertise strengthens alignment throughout the development lifecycle and reinforces consistent, high-quality execution with Petronas Suriname and Valaris.”
The collaboration integrates Petronas’ deep basin expertise, Valaris’ offshore drilling capability, and Halliburton’s technology and execution strengths to maximize the development and long-term value of the Suriname asset.
This step is perceived to link subsurface evaluation and field development planning with digital well construction to provide clear visibility into each stage of the development workflow from concept to execution.
Halliburton claims that the approach supports effective planning, confident decision-making, and consistent, high-quality execution throughout the development life-cycle.
This comes shortly after the U.S. firm announced a new achievement offshore Guyana in collaboration with ExxonMobil, Sekal, Noble, and the Wells Alliance Guyana team.
