Norway-headquartered asset integrity management company Axess Group has expanded its deal with Equinor, a compatriot state-owned energy giant, to include an additional scope of work in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
Axess Group has secured the inclusion of guided wave ultrasonic testing (GWUT) in its existing frame agreement with Equinor.
As a result, the scope of work now entails the inspection of conductors using GWUT across the Troll and other fields in the North Sea.
This inclusion follows successful trials at the Troll field, carried out in close collaboration with the operator’s representatives.
Vlad Eide, Department Director – QC & INSI at Axess Group, commented: “At Axess Group, we prioritise the use of innovative and advanced technology for asset integrity management to enhance both efficiency and safety.
“GWUT is well-suited for harsh conditions and allows us to save significant hours compared to conventional NDT mapping. This additional scope reinforces our role as a trusted partner in ensuring the integrity of critical offshore infrastructure.”
This comes months after the firm’s subsidiary, Axess Technologies, picked up a new riser replacement task in the Norwegian North Sea with Equinor.
