Last month, Next Geosolutions (NextGeo) reported that it had acquired the OSCV Siem Day from Norway’s Siem Day II for a purchase price of around $112 million, with the vessel to be deployed for the long-term assignment of its subsidiary Rana Subsea with Saipem.

Renamed NG Supporter, the vessel departed from the Port of Ravenna on Saturday, February 14, towards the Middle East, where it will deliver advanced SATDiving services, primarily in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, under a 36-month continuous program supporting critical offshore operations.

“This mobilisation represents more than a relocation: it reflects long-term planning, technical capability and the ability to deploy specialised assets where reliability, safety and operational excellence are essential for the energy sector. Projects of this scale reinforce the strategic role of integrated OffshoreServices and highlight the growing demand for highly specialised subsea expertise in key international markets,” NextGeo said.

The 2013-built NG Supporter, equipped with a dynamic positioning class II (DP2) system, has an overall length of approximately 121 meters and a beam of 22 meters.

The vessel has a deck area of 1,300 square meters, a 250-ton offshore crane with active heave compensation (AHC) system, a 7.2 x 7.2-meter moonpool, a bow helideck, and accommodation for 110 people on board.

It is designed to perform complex subsea operations, construction and installation support activities, and inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) services, primarily within the oil & gas market, NextGeo said.
