GTT has received an order from Samsung Heavy Industries for the tank design of a new liquefied natural gas carrier on behalf of an Asian shipowner.

Thanks to this order, which was booked in the first quarter of 2026, the French player will design the cryogenic tanks of the vessel with a total capacity of 174,000 cubic meters (cbm).

The tanks will be fitted with GTT’s Mark III Flex membrane containment system. The delivery of the vessel is expected in 2029.

The latest assignment comes weeks after the company obtained tank design jobs for four LNG carriers with China’s Hudong-Zhonghua shipyard.
