French-based engineering player Technip Energies has secured the all-clear to proceed with its assignment on a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export project under development in Louisiana, United States.
Technip Energies has received full notice to proceed (FNTP) for an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract with Commonwealth LNG, a Caturus company. This deal, representing above €1 billion of revenue, is for the 9.5 million tons per annum (mtpa) LNG export facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
This clearance follows the final investment decision (FID) for the $13-billion project, enabling the French player to transition from initial activities to full execution of the project. The scope of the contract includes the delivery of six identical liquefaction trains, utilizing the firm’s SnapLNG by T.ENTM modular and scalable solution.
By employing a single design replicated across all six trains, this solution is perceived to offer accelerated project schedules and optimized costs, alongside improved predictability and certainty at scale.

The project lined up long‑term offtake agreements with several players, encapsulating EQT, Glencore, Mercuria, Petronas, and Aramco Trading. Phase 1 development is expected to generate more than $3 billion in annual export revenue when operations start in 2030.
The Commonwealth LNG facility will entail six Baker Hughes mixed-refrigerant compressors powered by LM9000 gas turbines, six Honeywell main cryogenic heat exchangers, and four Titan 350 gas turbine-generators from Solar Turbines.
The project will be capable of loading LNG carriers up to 216,000 cubic meters. Technip Energies highlights that the FNTP milestone reinforces its position as a global leader in LNG, having delivered over 20% of the world’s operating LNG capacity.
