Norway’s Reach Subsea has secured two new call‑offs under its frame agreement with compatriot state-owned energy firm Equinor which will see its uncrewed surface vessel (USV) Reach Remote 1 deployed for gas reservoir monitoring and subsea inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) services on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).

The first call‑off supports gas reservoir monitoring at the Troll field and includes options for additional survey scopes, with the second being an IMR contract covering detailed inspection of a large number of subsea assets across multiple offshore locations.

The first campaign will deploy Reach Subsea’s gWatch technology, with the latter to be performed using Reach Subsea’s ROV deployed from Reach Remote 1, combined with the company’s purpose‑built tooling designed specifically for remote and uncrewed operations.

Planning and preparation for both campaigns will begin immediately, with the majority of offshore operations scheduled for execution in Q2 and Q3 2026.

With these two, Equinor has awarded a total of three contracts utilizing Reach Remote 1. The contracts will be executed consecutively and are expected to occupy most of the vessel spread’s capacity during the second and third quarters of 2026, Reach Subsea said.

“Over recent months, Reach Subsea has executed a series of offshore operations using Reach Remote 1, including work within offshore safety zone and the deployment of multiple tools from an unmanned vessel. The contracts announced today follow a period of increasing operational activity with Reach Remote 1,” Reach Subsea said.
