Inyanga Marine takes newbuild offshore wind vessel under management

UK-based marine offshore renewables specialist Inyanga Marine Energy Group will be taking over the operational management of the newly built hybrid utility vessel Tor Boreas.

According to the company, it will operate the vessel in partnership with Turkish shipbuilder Tor Group, which built the vessel. It was designed by Macduff Ship Design.

The vessel is targeted at the offshore wind sector and is suited for a wide range of activities in the sector, including geotechnical seabed surveys, ROV operations, subsea inspections, and diving operations. The vessel is available for charter and is currently located in the UK.

The 26.95 m long Tor Boreas features an offshore crane and a 5-tonne hydraulic A-frame, as well as towing capability, with a 25-tonne electric aft winch and a 17-tonne bollard pull. The vessel can also accommodate up to 12 people.
