The Japan Ship Machinery and Equipment Association (JSMEA) organised a meeting with the Shipyards Association of India (SAI) to discuss the organisation of a business-matching event in India.
This collaboration will strengthen maritime ties between the two nations and tap into emerging opportunities in India’s shipbuilding industry.
JSMEA represents many companies in the manufacturing, repairs, sales of machinery, including pumps, propulsion engines, compressors, oil purifiers, navigational equipment and other marine components.
The Association has 256 corporate members and 75 supporting organisations, bringing together Japan’s leading marine technology manufacturers.
Japan is known for its world-class maritime engineering, and JSMEA plays a vital role in promoting excellence and innovation through global exhibitions and partnerships.
JSMEA’s rising interest in the Indian market comes when the Indian government is promoting the domestic shipbuilding industry.
Many fiscal and financial incentives have been introduced for encouraging investments, technological exchanges and international collaboration.
The proposed business-matching event could lead to more joint ventures, technology transfers and knowledge sharing between Japanese manufacturers and Indian Shipbuilders.
It is also a step forward in building a strong and mutually beneficial maritime partnership between Japan and India.
