NYK Welcomes 50 Students to Large Car Carrier at Port of Kawasaki

On July 29, NYK welcomed 50 elementary-school-aged students aboard Green Wave, an NYK-operated pure car & truck carrier (PCTC), as part of the city of Kawasaki’s Marine Month.

Kawasaki organizes this event to spark interest in the maritime trade and shipping by giving children, the city’s future leaders, a chance to experience international logistics in action.

The students observed the process of loading and unloading vehicles and toured Green Wave’s bridge. During the Q&A session, they posed engaging questions such as, “What made you want to become a seafarer?” and “What kind of food do you eat on the ship every day?” They appeared to be deeply intrigued by the work being done on ships.
