Tension was reported at the Greek Island of Rhodes after a clash was reported between the Riot Police and protestors who were against the docking of an Israeli cruise ship on the Island.

Video footage showed them chanting slogans, ‘Freedom for Palestine’, close to the cruise port while the police pushed them back, and a scuffle broke out.

The cruise ship passengers disembarked in Rhodes without an accident, per Greek Media.

Anti-war activists called for demonstrations after an Israeli cruise ship, the Crown Iris, made a stop at the island of Rhodes.

The cruise ship was carrying over 600 tourists, and the protest was not supported by the representatives of local businesses.

In the previous week, Crown Iris left the Greek Island of Syros early, and its passengers could not disembark after more than 150 protestors demonstrated at the island’s port.

They raised the Palestinian Flag and called for an end to the war in Gaza, though no violence was reported in Syros.

Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Saar has reached out to his Greek counterpart, George Gerapetritis, over these incidents.
