SEA.AI Selected for the Index Blue Tech 2025 Program Recognizing High-Potential Maritime Startups

SEA.AI, the global leader in AI-powered vision systems for maritime safety, has been selected for Index Blue Tech 2025, a national program highlighting the most promising companies driving innovation across the French maritime and blue-economy sectors.

Organized by Cluster Maritime Français, Index Blue Tech identifies established, highpotential companies that contribute to a safer, more sustainable, and more competitive maritime industry.

SEA.AI’s selection recognizes the company’s pioneering work in applying artificial intelligence, thermal and optical vision, and advanced AI-powered processing to deliver real-time situational awareness for recreational, commercial, and professional vessels.

“We’re proud to be included in Index Blue Tech 2025. It was inspiring to see so many high-quality French maritime startups gathered under one roof, each bringing real value to the sector,” said Solenn Gouerou, part of the founding team at SEA.AI, and now leading the company’s marketing and communication strategy. “This selection strengthens our position within the French maritime innovation ecosystem and will help us develop partnerships that improve safety at sea for all.”

SEA.AI develops a full range of AI-vision products designed to detect obstacles, vessels, and floating objects day and night, even in low-visibility conditions. Beyond collision avoidance, its technology also supports early detection of marine mammals, including whales, helping operators reduce strike risk. The system can additionally assist in manoverboard (MOB) scenarios by detecting and tracking human-shaped objects in the water.

SEA.AI’s portfolio ranges from affordable single-camera systems for recreational boaters, to integrated four-camera units combining two thermal and two low-light sensors for professional vessels, and to software-only solutions that connect directly to existing thermal cameras.

Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs), which are increasingly used in environmental monitoring, defense, security, and the energy industry, are a quickly growing market for the young company. SEA.AI also works closely with the commercial maritime industry, keeping ferries, passenger vessels, and survey ships safer at sea.

At the core of every SEA.AI system are proprietary vision models trained on millions of maritime images collected since 2018. The algorithms analyze thermal and optical video streams in real time, identify objects, classify them, and issue alerts when necessary. All processing happens onboard, without connectivity, ensuring immediate alerts and continuous detection even far offshore.

As part of the Blue Tech Index, SEA.AI will benefit from increased national visibility and new opportunities for collaboration with investors, ports, maritime operators, and fellow innovators in fields such as energy, mobility, environment, and marine data.
