Eastern Pacific Shipping orders 12 newbuilds at Chinese shipbuilder Hengli | Shipping news

Eastern Pacific Shipping Pte. Ltd. has contracted up to 12 newbuildings at a major Chinese shipbuilder.

The orders comprise six 306,000-dwt very large crude carriers (VLCCs), two 157,000-dwt LNG dual-fuel crude oil tankers, and four 6,000-TEU container ships, according to an announcement from Shanghai Stock Exchange-listed company Guangdong Songfa Ceramics Co., Ltd.

On November 28, Guangdong Songfa Ceramics announced via the Shanghai Stock Exchange the signing of a material routine operating contract by a subsidiary.

Specifically, EPS sealed a contract for 12 newbuild vessels at Hengli, valued between $1.1bn and $1.6bn.

Hengli’s newly published announcement now broadens the two companies’ co-operation with a landmark deal.

According to the Hengli shipbuilder, deliveries of the newbuildings will take place sequentially from the second half of 2027 through 2028.
