Gasoline profit margins slip | Hellenic Shipping News Worldwide

Northwest European gasoline profit margins fell 31 cents a barrel to $17.36 a barrel on Friday.

A total of 5,000 metric tons of Eurobob E5 barges traded in the session, with Gunvor and Sahara selling to Varo and Trafigura.

An additional 4,000 tons of Eurobob E10 barges traded, with TotalEnergies and Gunvor selling to TotalEnergies and Varo.

BP’s 440,000-bpd refinery in Whiting, Indiana, the largest in the U.S. Midwest, continued to flare after flooding disrupted its operations earlier this week, the company said late on Thursday.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Friday began clearing a backlog of requests from small oil refineries for exemptions from the nation’s biofuel laws, granting 63 and denying 28 of them, with 77 receiving partial approvals.

Several regions in Russia and parts of Ukraine it controls are reporting gasoline shortages after Ukraine stepped up attacks on Russian oil refineries this month, and amid a seasonal surge in fuel demand.

EU and UK gasoline and blending component exports to other regions averaged 793,000 bpd in August so far, compared to 1 million bpd in July, Kpler data showed.
