Solvang Gas Carriers buys VLGC trio from Vitol with charter-back | Shipsale news

Solvang Gas Carriers AS, the joint venture between the Norwegian shipowner Solvang ASA and a fund managed by Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a part of BlackRock, one of the world’s leading private infrastructure investment firms, has entered into an agreement to purchase three 2019built VLGCs from Vitol subsidiaries.

The delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.

The vessels included in the transaction are the Vivit Altais (80,500 cbm), Vivit Dubhe (84,200 cbm), and Vivit Fornax (84,200 cbm).

All three vessels will be time‑chartered back to Vitol International Shipping.

Following the acquisition of these three VLGCs, the Solvang Gas Carriers AS fleet will comprise 16 VLGCs – 12 of which are panamax vessels – once the seven vessels currently on order are delivered between March 2026 and February 2027.
