Marco Polo Marine expands fleet with two new AHTS vessels

Singapore offshore vessel player and shipyard Marco Polo Marine will be expanding its fleet with the addition of two newbuild anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels.

With a combined value of approximately $34m, the vessels are expected to join the fleet in 2026. With these additions, the group’s offshore fleet will expand from a total of 19 to 21 vessels.

The two newbuild anchor handlers will be equipped with features tailored to primarily meet the requirements for supporting oil and gas activities in the Southeast Asian region.

However, the vessels will also be capable of being deployed to Northeast Asia to support offshore wind farm projects.

One of the AHTS vessels will be owned by the company’s 71% indirect subsidiary, PT Pelayaran Nasional Bina Buana Raya. The vessel will be 60.8 m long and 16 m wide. It will feature dynamic positioning and firefighting capabilities.

The second will be Singapore-registered and larger than the first vessel. It will be 76 m and 18.5 m wide. Like the first one, it will also be equipped with DP2 and firefighting systems.
