Drewry: The World Container Index increased 2% this week 42-2025 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week returned back to increasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index increased by 2% to $1,687 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam increased by 2% or $92 to $1,669, and Rotterdam to Shanghai also increased by 1% or $3 to $452 per 40-foot container.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa increased by 2% or $28 to $1,821, while Shanghai to Los Angeles increased by 1% or $19 to $2,195. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York increased by 1% or $47 to $3,236 per 40-foot container.

Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai decreased by 1% or $6 to $710 and Rotterdam to New York increased by 2% or $38 to $1,797 per FEU. The freight from New York to Rotterdam this week increased by 2% or $15 to $845 per 40-foot container.
