Drewry: The World Container Index increased 3% this week 43-2025 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued the increasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index increased by 3% to $1,746 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam increased by 4% or $67 to $1,736, and Rotterdam to Shanghai also increased by 1% or $6 to $458 per 40-foot container.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa increased by 2% or $34 to $1,855, while Shanghai to Los Angeles increased by 4% or $95 to $2,290. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York increased by 6% or $184 to $3,420 per 40-foot container.

Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai remained stable at $709 and Rotterdam to New York decreased by 4% or $77 to $1,720 per FEU. Furthermore, the freight from New York to Rotterdam this week increased by 1% or $11 to $856 per 40-foot container.
