LD Armateurs bolsters offshore fleet

French owner LD Armateurs is stepping up its offshore push, acquiring a multipurpose support vessel to expand its subsea capabilities.

The vessel, Siddis Mariner, acquired from Norway’s OH Meling for an undisclosed price, will be renamed TVO Mariner and join the fleet of LD TravOcean, the group’s subsea arm. Delivery is scheduled for summer 2026.

The move marks a shift toward offering more integrated offshore services, combining vessels, subsea equipment and in-house operational teams under one setup.

LD TravOcean said the addition of the vessel will allow it to handle projects from mobilisation through to completion, using its own trenching machines, rovjets and remotely operated vehicles.

The ship will support a wide range of work, including telecom cable installation and repair, offshore wind projects and broader multipurpose offshore operations.

Built in 2011 to Norwegian design standards, the 88.3-m vessel comes with DP2 capability, a 2,500-tonne payload, a 950 sq m working deck and accommodation for up to 70 people. The vessel is already familiar to LD TravOcean crews, having previously been used on an offshore wind job in Germany.

Once delivered, the ship will sail under the French flag, with marine operations handled by LD Armateurs and subsea work carried out by LD TravOcean teams.

The company said the acquisition forms part of a wider plan by the LDA Group to grow its fleet and move further into higher-value offshore services, particularly linked to energy transition projects.
