Himalaya Shipping converts newcastlemax charter to fixed rate deal | Dry bulk shipping news

Bermuda-based drybulk owner Himalaya Shipping has agreed to convert the time charter for the 210,000-dwt Mount Bandeira to a (index-linked) fixed rate time charter at a rate of around $38,000 per day, gross, from 1 October to 31 December.

The shipowner said the vessel will continue to earn scrubber benefits according to the terms of the existing time charter agreement.

From 1 October to 31 December, the company has five vessels fixed at an average rate of approximately $35,800 per day, gross.

Currently, Himalaya Shipping has twelve vessels in operation.
