HD Hyundai Heavy Signs Swedish Icebreaker Contract

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries announced that it held a signing ceremony for a shipbuilding contract for a dedicated icebreaker with the Swedish Maritime Administration (SMA) at the National Maritime Museum in Stockholm, Sweden, on April 24 (local time).

The ceremony was attended by figures including Joo Won-ho, President and Head of the Naval & Special Ship Business Unit of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, and Erik Eklund, Director-General of the Swedish Maritime Administration.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries had previously disclosed on the 22nd that it had won an order from the Swedish Maritime Administration for one dedicated icebreaker, valued at $348.9 million (514.8 billion won).
