Integrated Wind Solutions adds to backlog with CSOV contract extensions

Integrated Wind Solutions has strengthened its forward orderbook after agreeing a two-year extension to a strategic contract with an existing client, tightening utilisation for its walk-to-work fleet into the next decade.

The Oslo-listed company said the deal for its business unit IWS Fleet covers the European region through 2029, with options that could run as far as 2032. The agreement also opens the door for work in the Asia-Pacific, expanding the commercial scope beyond IWS Fleet’s core markets.

Under the extended agreement, IWS Fleet has secured about 600 firm days of employment in 2028, plus roughly 180 optional days stretching into early 2029. Several Skywalker-class CSOVs are expected to start work in Q1 and Q2 2028. If all options are exercised, the contract would add around €36m ($42m) to the charter backlog, lifting it by about 36% compared with the level reported at the end of Q3 2025.

The latest extension follows another backlog boost announced on December 5, when IWS Fleet said it had secured 830 additional charter days, including 191 optional days extending well into 2028. That work, involving two vessels, is due to start in Q4 2026 and Q1 2027 for an existing client and could add a further €35m to the backlog if options are taken.

Including all option days, IWS Fleet has now locked in around 35% of available days for 2028.

In a separate announcement, the company also confirmed a charter extension for the IWS Skywalker, securing an extra 150 days of work in 2027. The extension fully utilises the vessel through the end of that year and adds about €7m to the backlog, equivalent to a 7% uplift versus the end of Q3 2025.

With these fixtures in place, IWS Fleet now has around 63% of its available days in 2027 covered, including options, underlining solid demand for CSOV tonnage as offshore wind activity continues to build.
